Theme: Design Thinking + - × ÷
In the early editions of DTIA Get-together, voices in the community called out the risks of Design Thinking becoming an orthodoxy. A recipe to be rigidly adhered to. Static. Susceptible to becoming irrelevant.
Fast forward to the first post-pandemic editions of our get-together in 2024: Artificial Intelligence had organically, inevitably become a hot context of discourse – is AI the technological juggernaut that spells the beginning of the end of Design Thinking? Or is Design Thinking more relevant than ever because of the mainstreaming of AI?
Design Thinking has transformed significantly over the years. What began as a method to frame and magnify creativity and solve user-centric problems has grown into a robust, adaptable enabler.
Today, design is not a stand-alone solution; it thrives when interconnected with other progressive methodologies like futures thinking and organization development. Together, they form a comprehensive, forward-looking plethora of approaches that fully harness the potential of design, with Design Thinking at the centre, resolutely keeping the tenet of Human Centricity and Life Centricity.
DTIA’s 2025 Get-together, will further deconstruct, and re-construct Design Thinking, starting with:
Plus (+): Design Thinking creates value by adding empathy and problem definitions to frame innovation, meeting complex needs in meaningful ways.
Minus (-): It helps identify and remove barriers, paving the way for streamlined and impactful solutions. Less becomes more.
Times (×): When multiplied by other disciplines, like futures thinking and organization development, design expands in reach and effectiveness, building resilience for the future.
Division (÷): Design Thinking also divides complex challenges into manageable parts, promoting clarity and structured problem-solving.
Through these dynamics, The Power of Design is amplified beyond problem-solving; it becomes a strategic enabler for transformation in uncertain times, fostering adaptability, vision, and sustainable impact.

With the aim of creating an experience that is relevant, valuable and enjoyable for all attendees, we design the Conference using Design Thinking principles. We interviewed Design Thinkers of varying levels of experiences to uncover their needs, and then curate the Conference to address the most important among these needs. Sessions are designed for attendees with case studies and lots of interaction.
